Welcome to FLTRD! Before using our app, please take a moment to review the following Terms of Use ("Terms"). By accessing or using FLTRD, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please refrain from using the app.

1. About the FLTRD App

FLTRD is designed to help you make more informed food choices in the supermarket. By scanning product barcodes, the app aims to provide insights into the level of processing (using methods like our PureScore) and suggest potential healthier or less processed alternatives available in your shopping context.

Free and Premium Features

The FLTRD app operates on a "freemium" model.

Free Features: Core functionalities, such as scanning products to view their scores and basic information, are available to all users free of charge.
FLTRD Premium: We also offer a subscription-based service, "FLTRD Premium," which unlocks additional features, including our full library of recipes and advanced personalized filters (e.g., for specific dietary preferences). Access to FLTRD Premium requires an active, paid subscription.

The information and suggestions presented in the app are for general informational purposes only and are not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider or registered dietitian for individualized advice regarding your health, medical conditions, or specific dietary needs.

2. Applicability and Eligibility

FLTRD is intended for users who are of legal age to form a binding contract. By using the app, you affirm that you are of legal age to do so, or that you have obtained the necessary consent from a parent or legal guardian.

3. User Conduct

You agree to use FLTRD for lawful purposes only and will not use the app to violate any applicable laws, regulations, or the rights of others.

4. FLTRD Premium Subscriptions

Subscription Plans: Access to the premium features of FLTRD requires a subscription. We may offer different subscription plans (e.g., monthly, yearly). The specific terms, pricing, and duration of each plan are detailed within the app's subscription screen.
Billing and Payments: All payments are processed through the Apple App Store and are charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase. You are responsible for paying all fees and applicable taxes associated with your subscription in a timely manner.
Auto-Renewal: Your subscription to FLTRD Premium will automatically renew at the end of each subscription period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan.
Managing and Cancelling Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time by going to your device's Settings, tapping on your Apple ID, then "Subscriptions."

5. Refunds

All transactions made through the Apple App Store are subject to Apple's terms and conditions. As such, all billing and refund inquiries must be directed to Apple. We do not have the ability to manage or issue refunds for purchases made through the App Store.

6. Intellectual Property

All content and materials provided by FLTRD, including but not limited to text, graphics, images, logos, software, and scoring methodologies, are the property of FLTRD B.V. or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the app's features for personal, non-commercial purposes, in accordance with your subscription status.

7. Disclaimer of Warranty and Information Accuracy

The information provided by FLTRD (including product data, processing scores like the PureScore, and alternative suggestions) is intended for general informational purposes to assist your choices.

Not Medical Advice: It is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or dietary change.
Check Packaging: Product information, including ingredients and allergens, can change. While we strive for accuracy, the data in the app may not always be complete, accurate, or up-to-date. Always check the physical product packaging for the most current and reliable information before consumption, especially regarding allergens.
Not suitable for (Severe) Allergies and Medical Diets: The FLTRD app is strictly not designed, nor suitable, for users with (severe) food allergies, intolerances, or specific medical diets. Product ingredients and recipes change frequently, and our database may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate due to reliance on external data. For your health and safety, you must always rely exclusively on the physical packaging and the mandatory allergen information printed on the product's label. FLTRD expressly disclaims all liability for any allergic reactions, medical complications, or health-related damages arising from the use of the app.
Scores as Independent Opinions (Opinion Clause): The PureScore, any other ratings, and alternative suggestions provided in the app represent the sole, independent opinion of FLTRD. These scores are generated by applying our proprietary algorithm to (public) product data. Our scores and evaluations do not constitute absolute, universal scientific facts, nor are they intended as an objective judgment on the overall quality of any brand. The scores are intended purely as an informational tool for consumers and are in no way intended to disparage any product, brand, or manufacturer (defamation).
"As-Is" Basis: The app and its information are provided on an "as-is" basis. FLTRD makes no warranties or representations regarding the absolute accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of the information provided via scanning or searching. Your use of the app and reliance on its information is at your own risk.
No Liability for Use: FLTRD B.V., its creators, developers, and owners disclaim any liability for decisions made or results obtained from the use of the app or its content.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FLTRD B.V. shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, FLTRD.

FLTRD may contain links to third-party websites or services. These links are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement or responsibility by FLTRD for the content or practices of these third parties.

10. Changes to Terms of Use
